If this moment comes again, wait for the bird to feed, preen, or interact with the water—a gesture that transforms the frame from observation into narrative. Right now, the monochrome and negative space are doing the work. In post, consider a subtle warm tone shift in the water's reflection to create colour harmony without breaking the monochrome mood—this would deepen the contemplative feeling without reversing the choice. Crop 8–10 percent from the top if the sky feels empty; let the bird sit lower in the frame so the reflection becomes the subject's equal. To reach 9+: the bird would need to be caught mid-gesture—a wing lift, a feeding moment, or a turn—while the monochrome and emptiness remain. That frame exists if the behaviour aligns with the light.
